In the context of route planning, we survey and consider nature conservation areas, cultural heritage sites, and distances to buildings, while also identifying the best route option among the possible alternatives. If necessary, we carry out an environmental assessment, during which the natural values of the power line area are surveyed and the impacts of the power line are evaluated through magnetic field assessments and reports
Power line planning requires negotiations with authorities and various statements. On behalf of the client, we handle negotiations with authorities and obtain the necessary statements regarding the power line route from relevant entities such as the ELY Centre, Regional State Administrative Agency (AVI), National Board of Antiquities, Regional Council, Finavia, Finnish Defence Forces, municipalities and cities, as well as the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency. We manage negotiations in situations where changes to the planned route are desired. We are responsible for the research permit application and will obtain the permit from the National Land Survey of Finland to allow work in the area. Additionally, we will submit a project permit application to the Energy Authority, justifying the reasons and importance of the power line construction.
Power line planning includes surveying the power line route and placement planning. We survey the route using GPS equipment, clear the centerline of the power line route, and mark the planned pole locations in the field. During the placement planning phase, we use the collected data to design the profile of the power lines—modeling aspects such as the distances between poles and the sag of the lines in the map file.
In soil investigations, the ground is examined using vibratory or weight sounding methods. We report on the soil layers, as well as the bedrock and groundwater levels, and based on this data, we provide recommendations for the foundation methods for the poles
We conduct hazard and interference voltage analyses and assessments. We are familiar with calculating parameters such as equivalent grounding impedances, reduction factors, and induced voltages. These assessments examine the impact of the power line on the surrounding land area, as well as on the electrical and telecommunications networks. The assessments identify dangerous areas and recommend protective measures. Based on this information, grounding plans are developed.
Power line planning also involves soil measurements. We conduct soil resistivity measurements in the field, which provide critical data for grounding design. Our skilled surveyors are capable of making necessary observations during the measurements that need to be considered in terrain planning. Additionally, during the same measurement visit, we can produce maintenance or geospatial data if required.
We design the types of poles used in the power line and determine which pole type is appropriate for each location, taking into account strength requirements and constructability. Power line planning also includes specifying the type of fiber and conductors to be used.

We manage the negotiations for preliminary possession agreements with landowners and compile the expropriation permit application. We represent the client during the expropriation process and participate as experts in expropriation meetings on behalf of the client. We conduct soil classification and timber valuation for the expropriation procedure. Additionally, we mark the cutting and property boundaries in the field.
